Still miss your Christmas cards and letters lovely lady - was so much fun watching your (our) sons grow up and see where you and Laurie were living over the years. Enjoyed knowing someone else was experiencing the same "fun" with "son growing pains"...........
Mary Ellen was an intelligent, fun person. I had several classes with her and enjoyed it a lot. I can remember vividly working on the class of 1963 float at her house. [ a very nice house] She was kind and sweet and will be missed by all...especially by Laurie Matiasevich. We elected her to be a homecoming princess and she deserved it more then most. I can remember we [ the Varsity football team] voted twice as the first vote did not include Mary Ellen and I am proud to say I was a driving force to re-vote and get her the honor she deserved.
Good for you, Rod. She really did deserve it. Yeah, that float was my Dad's VW. We turned it into Alladin's lamp. Mary Ellen and I started kindergarten together. She was probably my closest friend. I'll never forget when I was stationed in Norfolk, VA, and she told me that she and Laurie were pregnant with Mathew. I couldn't believe it. I loved her like a sister, and miss her soooo much. Rest in peace, Scarry Ellen.
She was one of my "best buds" since elementary school. After she got her pink T-bird, we drove to high school every day together. I stayed with her for a week when I had my broken leg (freshman year) and she and her mom made sure I got to school and home every day. She came to visit me once when I was at the University of Arizona. I lost touch with her after college and I know I missed having my good friend to talk with in those later years. She was a very special person.
